This has been a difficult week for the Trump Administration; there has been rebellion inside the halls of the White House beginning with the release of journalist Bob Woodward’s book titled Fear.
Fear appears to be a highly credible work, containing quotes from former and current Trump staff members stating that Trump is highly incompetent and possess poor judgment. None of Woodward’s sources were anonymous and all the interviews have audio recordings.
As if this was not damaging enough, the New York Times released an anonymous article which claims to come from a senior member of the Trump administration. The article claims that the president is amoral and does not express Republican values.
As these claims are hurled at the Administration, the claims are also being denied just as quickly by the Administration. Both General John Kelly and Secretary Jim Mattis have released statements claiming that their sections found in Woodward’s book were completely fabricated. Trump has also claimed that the entirety of the book is a work of fiction.
Trump later dismissed the New York Times article by tweeting out, “Does the so-called ‘Senior Administration Official’ really exist, or is it just the Failing New York Times with another phony source? If the GUTLESS anonymous person does indeed exist, the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!”
In the midst of these claims, Trump continues to state that the economy is performing tremendously well. So while the economy is improving, Trump finds himself in between a rock and a resentful staff.
